Why is our unique grain-fed chicken pasta sauce changing packaging?

 

With the mission of feeding more and more people locally so that they can share the happiness of eating healthy while respecting everyone and especially the environment, it is a priority for Ferme des Voltigeurs to adopt a process of continuous improvement of our environmental performance.

 

The life cycle* analysis of a polypropylene plastic jar confirmed that it has 70% less greenhouse gas emissions impact compared to a glass jar (300 g vs 1002 g de C02 eq emitted).

How can these impacts be explained?

  • A lighter container, reducing CO2 emissions related to transport and manufacturing;
  • Local production at Elips, limiting the distances traveled for delivery to our Drummondville plant, also reducing CO2 emissions;
  • A transformation process that consumes less energy than glass;

 

In addition to the positive impacts on the environment, our new packaging allows:

  • The same homemade taste that has made it famous over the years;
  • An improved recipe designed to meet the government standards of the Healty Food Program;
